Camera & Staging/Layout Demo Reel

A more extensive demo reel can be provided upon request.

1.Creature Fight [March 2011]
An experiment with stylistic camera moves that both work
to guide composition as well as heighten the drama.

2. Lunch Breaks [September 2009]
Short film thesis project. I was the Lead Animator and
Rigger as well as Layout Artist. Layout was done quickly
due to time constraints so it was mostly a process of
getting the assets into the scene, setting up the file
structure, and making it all match the boards in both
composition as well as acting and timing. The layout edit of
the film was used as a means to get feedback on our story
before we got further down the pipeline, so the acting and
the main beats had to read clearly. Maya 2010

3. Surrender [September 2009]
Personal project. I was really concerned with staging, so
I went through many revisions, each exploring show
the different compositions lead to different acting
choices and how the flow of movement across screen
was affected. Maya 2010

4. Devil: [August 2010]
Personal Project. An exercise using a simple two camera
setup. As the animation progressed, I moved the camera
in to enhance the intimacy of the acting and make the
viewer feel as uncomfortable as the man sitting.
